Health insurance subsidies: simply explained
More for your health. Pay less.
Many statutory health insurers subsidize certified health courses. The amount and requirements depend on your health insurer, so it is worth checking reimbursement in advance.
Prevention under § 20 SGB V
What does “eligible for reimbursement” mean?
Statutory health insurers support preventive care and health promotion for their members. Section 20 of Book V of the German Social Code (SGB V) provides the basis for this support. It can include full or partial reimbursement for recognized prevention courses.
The course needs the appropriate certification and must meet your health insurer’s requirements. These may include completing the required sessions and providing the right documents.
Your health insurer can tell you the subsidy amount and which documents you need.
Before you book:
Here are three things to check.
-
Is your chosen course recognized?
All courses at Einfach Aktiv are certified. Share the course ID with your health insurer in advance to check whether and to what extent your chosen course may be subsidized.
-
What else should I know?
Find out about the subsidy amount, participation requirements and the documents you need.
-
How does reimbursement work?
Ask which documents your health insurer needs for reimbursement and how to submit them.
